Diesel Generators Made in the USA

Most diesel generators are not American made.  Some are not even American assembled.  This is due to the price of assembly and manufacturing in the United States.  However, there are some American made diesel generators out there if one is willing to work to find them. 

Many of the diesel generators that are manufactured state they are American.  Not that they are made in America, but just that they are American.  This is because most of them are not made in America, but rather assembled in America.  It is cheaper for most companies to have the pieces of the generators made elsewhere rather than have them manufactured in America.  This is because the price of resources is so high in America when compared to foreign countries.  Not only do items manufactured in America cost more for raw resources, they also cost more in terms of labor. 

With careful research regarding if the generator is made in the USA, the buyer can avoid those that are not truly made in USA and really help to support the American worker.  This can be done by looking on the website of the diesel generator’s manufacturer or disbuter.  They should have a list of the factories used in the production of the diesel generator.  If the factories are all in the United States of America, the buyer can be assured that it is a genuine made in the USA product.  If the factories are not all in the United States, then the product is not a made in USA item. Rather the diesel generator is an assembled in the USA product.  While assembly shops in the USA do help to employ the American worker, more workers are employed by those factories that purchase raw materials and build the piece that eventually becomes the diesel generator.  Moreover, American made parts ten to be of higher quality, thus requiring less upkeep and lower maintenance costs.
