A major reason for the fashion industries push for foreign designer bags is the cost of manufacturing.  Those designer bags that are made in America are made by American companies who are required to pay their employees a fair wage.  This makes the manufactured in the USA designer bag more costly to make, but it does make the bags that are manufactured in the USA a better quality because the employees take pride in their work.  In addition to the quality, American made products support the American worker.  This helps to boost the American economy and increase the value of the American dollar.
