Though much of our clothing is not made in the USA, you may be surprised to find that there are still a lot of clothes made in USA factories. When you purchase clothing made in USA, you are supporting our national and local economy and helping to keep America independent from other countries all over the world. Clothes made in America are sold by many merchants and stores across the country alongside clothes that are not manufactured in the USA, so it is important that you take a look at the label before you purchase an item to make sure it is American made.

While many of the major clothing brands are no longer made in the USA, one of the most popular clothing brands today remains made in USA borders. Carhartt, manufacturers of pants, shirts, coats, coveralls, shoes and more, is completely made in America and is proud to support the American economy. American made clothing is typically of a higher quality than clothing made in other countries. Though it may be more expensive for some because they just cannot compete with prices that companies based in other countries set (because of the money they are saving on labor and production) it is well worth the buy. Next time you are out shopping for clothes, pay closer attention to the labeling and you will  become more aware of the brands that are still made in the United States. Several well known brands such as Levi and Lee's that were once made in the USA have moved overseas. Keep in mind many online retailers also contain products made in America, and some online retailers specialize in those products, refusing to carry any others.
